Standard oil changes consist of replacing the oil and filter as well as topping off all the fluids and a basic vehicle inspection.
We sell and install (mount and balance) almost any brand of tire up to 17”. We do not keep tires in stock, but can usually get them same day.
We can align most vehicles with our infrared computer alignment system. We cannot do long trucks (extended cab long bed), or dualies.
Tune up work is hard to define these days, as modern vehicles do not require the adjustments that necessitated the term years ago. When we use the word “Tune Up” we are usually referring to the replacement of ignition system components such as the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, or coil boots. This is not a generic service, and varies greatly in terms of time and price, depending on the vehicle.
Fuel system treatments
The fuel system of most modern vehicles does not necessarily require maintenance. We do not push unnecessary maintenance items. In terms of a fuel system, unless there is a performance problem or concern, any bottle of over the counter fuel cleaner should suffice for maintenance and can be put in by the vehicle owner at their own discretion.
The automatic transmissions in modern vehicles are becoming increasingly complex. We strive to provide maintenance as the Manufacturer recommends, using vehicle-specific approved fluids only. Our flush machine is non invasive, using only the car’s own pressure to exchange 99% of the fluid in the entire system. Pricing is dependent on the vehicle’s fluid needs.
The difference between a flush and a service is all about the filter and pan. For a service, our technicians remove the transmission pan, replace the gasket (where applicable), and filter. Usually this requires approximately 6 quarts of new fluid, so the system doesn’t get a complete fluid exchange. Industry opinions vary greatly on filter changing, some say do it every time, some say never. In our opinion it depends on the vehicle and how you use it. Some vehicles may not even have a replaceable filter! Give us a call and we can tell you more based on your particular vehicle.
When it comes time to replace your battery… trust the professionals! There are places that may boast free replacement, but for only $15 (most makes and models) you can have an ASE certified professional install your battery properly and clean the terminals. Batteries aren’t as easy as they used to be, some cars even have them in the trunk! We have the service information and special tools to do it right!
Cooling system service
Your vehicle’s antifreeze is truly its life blood. Without a clean full cooling system, you run the risk of doing serious and permanent engine damage! We do it all, including thermostat replacement, hoses, radiators, and fans. We also have a cooling system flush machine to exchange your vehicle’s coolant. As with most fluids these days, there are several different types of antifreeze, and we strive to maintain OEM performance with only approved coolants. Our flush machine is non invasive, using the vehicle’s water pump to generate its flow. Give us a call and keep your automotive investment cool today!
I know it seems silly, but some of these cars are not as easy as you might think! Don’t bust your knuckles; just come let the pros handle it! On most vehicles we can snap wiper blades on in the parking lot, free of charge!
Got a squeak? Hear a chirp? Seeing cracks? Modern vehicles have all sorts of variety when it comes to belts. Some are serpentine, some need adjustment, and some have small auxiliary belts hidden behind the larger one! We have the knowledge, information and tools to do the job and do it right! We use quality NAPA belts made by Gates, the maker of most original equipment belts.
Air conditioning/Climate Control
Feeling the heat? When summer comes rolling in, you need to be ready! If those vents stop blowing cold, call us! We can service and repair any air conditioning system using the R-134a refrigerant (1994 and up). If you have the old R-12, unfortunately we cannot service your system. If your heat isn’t hot, we know what to do! We can handle heater cores, blend doors, sensors, blower motors, cabin air filters, switches, resistors, control heads and anything else that can cause cabin discomfort!
We do not fabricate exhaust systems, we repair using pre-formed OEM style pipes, catalytic converters, and mufflers. There may be a situation where we recommend you see a fabricating exhaust shop, depending on the situation, but usually we can take care of the whole system- manifold to tailpipe.
Which way are you going? If you and your car disagree about this, give us a call! We service all the components of a steering system, including outer tie rod ends, inner tie rods, steering gears, steering columns, power steering pumps, lines, and hoses. When we’re done, we can also do the alignment right in house! Get it all done in one spot.
Bouncy? Hard? Clunky? If your suspension is making you a little nervous, have the professionals check it out! We can do springs, bushings, control arms, ball joints, shackles, sway bars, links, shocks, struts, and even air suspension! Give us a call and we can make that vehicle drive like a new one (without the car payment!!!!).
Brakes are the most important part of your car. Stopping is far more important than going in most situations! If your brakes are giving you the shakes, squeaks, shimmies, or grinds, let us check them for you! We will check the system for you and let you know what needs to be done to fix them, and fix them right! We don’t have menu pricing nonsense; there are no $79.99 brake jobs here, because all cars have different needs and different parts. We will do the initial inspection for $31.50, and give you a detailed, easy to understand estimate that is honest and straightforward. You can decide what you do and don’t want to do. We pride ourselves on our customer communication, and if you have any questions, or want to see your old parts, don’t hesitate to ask! When it’s time to stop… you know where to start!
Finding out that you need a major component like an engine or transmission is never good news. We make it a point to stress true value in these situations. If you’re going to put a lot of money into your car or truck, we want you to be comfortable with your investment. We use only Jasper engines, transmissions, and differentials whenever possible. Jasper offers a 3 year 100,000 mile transferable warranty, and their products are of the highest quality. The way we see it, any of these jobs are going to be expensive. Odds are you aren’t going to have a few thousand dollars lying around for car repairs. So if you are going to undertake a serious financial investment, we want you to know what you are getting for your money. Junkyard parts are a risk that is not worth the savings. You never know what you are going to get, and we can’t warranty the parts. So in a major component replacement issue, we stress quality, understanding, information, and value. Don’t question your investment. We will give you honest advice and quality repairs.
Whether it’s a CV type or a straight axle, we can service all your axle needs. We can diagnose and repair most makes and models of axles, axle bearings, and axle seals. We don’t install CV axle boots, because axle prices have fallen to a point where it’s cheaper to replace an axle than to do a boot. If you are hearing any clunks or having any shimmies, let us know!
A used car deal that looks too good to be true? We’ll let you know the truth! If you have a new addition to your driveway, or are planning one, let us inspect it! We will do a full safety inspection of all systems, steering, suspension, brakes, fluids, belts, filters, hoses, and ignition. We don’t have a crystal ball, and we don’t have X-ray vision, but we are as close as it gets!
Check engine light? Running poorly? Won’t start? Died on you? You could have some guy at the parts store plug his “magic box” in and sell you 6 oxygen sensors before he gives up…. Or you could have a certified trained professional diagnose your car with the latest scan tool technology! We will check the problem and find the real fix. Trouble codes aren’t magic fixes. We don’t get an oxygen sensor code and instantly install an oxygen sensor, we look at the data, maybe it has a vacuum leak… the computer doesn’t know exactly what the problem is. We do. Our standard diagnostic fee for drivability problems is $80, then we call you with an estimate, and you can decide what you want to do. We pride ourselves on our ability to communicate with you, no surprises, and no guesswork.
